8467595147_d75d2b2709_zThat describes the Chagrin Falls business district in spring and summer, with flowering urns at doorways, vibrant gardens along the sidewalks, splashes of color in the parks and a bounty of hanging baskets.

Volunteer gardeners’ efforts are rewarded by hearing residents showing off the town and visitors marveling at the beauty of the Village. Concert nights in Triangle Park resemble a Norman Rockwell painting, with the crowd and band framed by landscaping and roses.

All of this was made possible last year by our 25 gardeners who plant and maintain the gardens. The volunteer hours numbered 800! Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls provides the plants for 52 urns. The Village supplies the plants for the gardens and parks. Dogwood Valley Garden Club provides major funding for the flowering hanging baskets.

Co-chairs Janine Bauman and Anne deConingh join me in planning and coordinating the program and, of course, gardening all summer. If you enjoy gardening and would like to be a volunteer, please contact Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls.

Dear Chagrin Falls Residents:

Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls is proud to support the Heritage Home Program in partnership with the Chagrin Falls Historical Society and the Village of Chagrin Falls.  Proceeds from the annual Your Hometown Chagrin Falls Home & Garden Tour support the Heritage Home Program which benefits  homeowners in Chagrin Falls by providing access to low interest rate loans and free technical support for the rehabilitation and maintenance of historic homes.

The authentic historic architecture, walkability and scale of the Village of Chagrin Falls are its defining features attracting visitors, residents and business.  During 2014, the Heritage Home Program received 25 inquiries, provided technical assistance to 13 homeowners and conducted 8 site visits.   We look forward to growing this program and encouraging even more participation in 2015.

Your HomeTown works hard in its mission dedicated to maintaining the historic character as the basis for the economic vitality, lifestyle and environment that is uniquely Chagrin Falls.   The Heritage Home Program is an important component.

The Heritage Home Program is a regional program operated by the Heritage Home Educational subsidiary of the Cleveland Restoration Society offering services to participating communities which include Chagrin Falls, 29 other regional communities and 15 Wards within the City of Cleveland.

More information about this program can be found at

Come To Holly Hall This December Wed, 03 Dec 2014 22:44:10 +0000

Dear Friends of Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls,
Once again the Holiday Season is upon us and there is no greater place to visit during the holidays then the charming Village of Chagrin Falls.  Our beautifully decorated town brings joy and excitement to visitors and residents who take part in the many Holiday Traditions during the festive season. One tradition you won’t want to miss is a visit to Township Hall, known as Holly Hall, beginning Friday, November 28th running through December 23rd.
As you enter the historic Township Hall you will be warmly embraced by its transformation into Holly Hall. As you enter through the large decorated doors you’ll be greeted by our friendly hospitality staff ready to serve you hot cocoa, cookies and donuts. Cookies are provided by Giant Eagle in Bainbridge, Hamlet Retirement Village, Heinen’s and resident bakers. The donuts are donated by Dunkin Donuts in Bainbridge. Take a stroll around the mini tree festival of lights that are on display as a silent auction and be sure to stock up on special gifts in our Santa’s Gift Shop priced at $6 and under. Perk Wolford’s themed train display is a highlight of Holly Hall!
You won’t want to miss the weekend choir concerts by Bethlehem Christian Academy, St. Joan of Arc School’s Choir, Chagrin Falls Intermediate Select Choir and Chagrin Falls High School Choirs. We also have a tap dance performance by the Cleveland City Rhythm Group. Visitors of all ages take delight in the weekend Santa visits, provided by Hamlet Retirement Community, along with the Sunday Horse & Carriage rides sponsored by Chagrin Falls Shopping Plaza. We will be selling tickets for our ”Holiday Dream Raffle” a John Deer 12 Volt Kid’s XUV Gator donated by Chagrin Pet, Garden and Power Equipment. Tickets are $5 a piece or three for $10.
Thank you to  University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center  and University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center for providing a nutrition and hand washing program to area preschools throughout December at Holly Hall.  We’d also like to thank the Chagrin Schools and art teacher Joann Mynchenburg for donating the artwork used as a backdrop in this year’s hall.
We will be selling our traditional Christmas ornament at $25 and Chagrin Falls seasonal note cards for $10. There is a new Chagrin Falls Holiday Traditions ornament that features the iconic bandstand at Triangle park etched in beveled cut glass for $25 and Chagrin Falls coffee and wine glasses $7 for one or 4 for $25.

Please shop and dine locally this year for the holidays and help our village businesses prosper. Don’t forget to download our Save Local Now Phone app to check out our merchants’ holiday deals, special savings and holiday events.
