The day after Thanksgiving, through mid- December, Town Hall is transformed into magical Holly Hall featuring our mini- tree silent auction, Santa visits, holiday themed train display, choir performances, children’s gift store, free horse and carriage rides and more! Holly Hall is one of Your Home Town Chagrin Falls ‘ most popular and exciting events…attracting over 5,000 visitors annually!

We are grateful yet again for the huge response from our local merchants and businesses in decorating our mini-trees for our annual silent auction. We know and appreciate the amount of time and talent it takes to create a spectacular and unique tree, and we look forward to seeing how festive and creative our 2014 season of mini- trees will be! We want you to be one of the thousands of people to browse Holly Hall and bid on one of these unique accent trees. Over 70 trees will be featured… mark your calendars now as our grand opening is November 28th with bidding ending Sunday December 14th at 2:00pm.

In addition, our many elves are hard at work sponsoring letters from Santa. The loved ones in your life can receive a wonderful personalized letter from Santa…this is a wonderful opportunity to show someone special you care. Whether it’s for your toddler, teen, or college student, the letter will surely put a smile on their face! Who doesn’t love a letter from Santa??? Act now as Santa has a long list! It’s Spring! Time for the Historic Home and Garden Tour Thu, 01 May 2014 17:24:14 +0000

Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls is proud to present the Chagrin Falls Historic Home and Garden Tour. The Walking Tour will take place on Friday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Featured are five select historic homes and gardens, as well as one church all within walking distance of downtown Chagrin Falls. The tour will feature one home on Maple Street, one home plus the United Methodist Church on South Franklin Street, and three homes on East Washington Street highlighting the broad range of historic architecture within the Village of Chagrin Falls.

Earlier homes on the tour include an 1873 practical Italianate style home constructed by Village merchant James M. Gates, who operated his dry goods store on North Franklin Street in Chagrin Falls. Two years later, the local newspaper reported construction of the Italianate Philip Hintz House, who with his father operated a stove and tinware business on the southeast corner of Main and Bell Streets. Queen Anne style houses on the tour include the early Queen Anne home of George and Nellie Huggett constructed in 1889 and a later Queen Anne home constructed by local builders George and William Brewster in 1899. Also included is the house of important Village physician Dr. H. M. Doty, constructed in 1905. A special addition to the Tour this year is the Gothic Revival United Methodist Church built in 1885 by the Methodists, who were among the first settlers to arrive to Chagrin Falls in 1833.

Spend the day and experience the ambiance and style of these homes which are part of the important architectural heritage of the Village. There will be van transportation provided in the Village by The Cleveland Clinic, Hamlet Retirement Community and South Franklin Circle for those who need assistance. The Women’s Committee of the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is serving its Famous Salad Luncheon Buffet on Friday, May 30 at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, 40 River Street between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For $15 enjoy salads, desserts and beverages. Purchase luncheon tickets at CVLT, or by calling 440-247-8955. What Makes Chagrin Special? Mon, 07 Apr 2014 12:02:00 +0000

Triangle Park Flagpole Gardens
Triangle Park
Flower Urns 2013
Shade Urn at Cuffs
Many things … but especially the flowers that bloom in the business district from spring through fall.  Residents and visitors marvel at the display seen in the parks, bump-out gardens in the sidewalks, and the urns at business store fronts.
The planting and gardening is done by 20 volunteers who contributed about 850 hours last summer.  Your Home Town funds the plants that flourish in 52 urns, the Dogwood Valley Garden Club contributes to the cost of the hanging baskets and the Village provides all of the other plant materials.
New last summer was a perennial garden that was planted along the fence at the front of the police station.
Ongoing, is the work to beautify the riverbank in Riverside Park with “naturalized gardens.”
This year work will begin with clean-up of the gardens day on April 23.  Planting will take place May 15 and 16 in preparation for Blossom Time.  After planting there will be a link from the YHT website that will give plant identification.
Gardeners Janine Bauman and Anne deConingh are the co-chairs who join me in planning and coordinating the entire program and working in the gardens all summer.  If you are inspired to join the volunteer effort, please contact
