Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls hosts an annual meeting each year to report on the success of our programs, meet with members of the community and get ideas from the merchants in town.  We also use this opportunity to recruit volunteers for the year ahead.  The 2011 meeting was held on January 11th.

Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls annual meeting was held on January 11, 2011 at the River Street Playhouse.

The following is a review of last year’s events and a summary of our plans for 2011:

 

Farmer’s Market - June thru October

2010

4th year of the market

Participating farmers sold out of their goods each week this past year

Chef Ali Barker from SFC prepared special recipes each month and we’ll be expanding “Chef at the Market” events this year
2011

2011 Sponsor is the Cleveland Clinic

- During the months of June thru August we will be soliciting support to have our market   recognized nationally as one of the top  20 Small Farmer’s Markets by the American Farmland Trust.

Looking for “music at the market.” Music must be conductive to shopping at the market, pays $40 per Sunday plus tips.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO STAFF COMMUNITY BOOTH TO SELL RAFFLE TICKETS, HANDOUTS FLYERS AND EVENT CALENDARS.

Thursday Car Cruise -in & Fab 4th Car Show - June thru August

Record number of cars and people last year at the Fab 4th Car Show

People travel from all over NE Ohio to attend this car show on the 4th in Triangle Park

Biennial Home & Garden Tour

2010 • Great success

  • Over 1,000 people attended the two day tour
  • 2010 was the 25th year of the tour
  • The Home & Garden Tour is every two years
  • Took over 300 volunteers to run events.

Holiday Traditions & Holly Hall

2010

Holly Hall got a new look this year; a “Winter Wonderland” look

Also featured a mini Train station and town display

Between 4 & 5 thousand people go through Holly during the month long event    

Concerts, Santa Visits, Children’s gift shop, free refreshments and the mini tree and      wreath silent auction remain the same popular activities

Each year we will add enhancements to the Winter Wonderland theme with new scenes and displays

Over 200 volunteers participated.

Sold out with over 280 attending 

Wine by The Falls:

Held at Kraftmaid featuring local restaurants cuisine, a silent auction and raffle of a $7,000 kitchen makeover.

We will be selling raffle tickets to a beautiful condo on a golf course in the lovely Amelia Island Plantation in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Plans are underway for a wonderful evening.

Secured 9 corporate sponsors to date.

 

Beautification Program

       2010

  • This committee works year round to make the village look beautiful by planting and maintaining the urns and gardens throughout the village. We do 3 downtown parks, the street gardens (bump outs) and urns.
  • The committee runs early May to almost October including planting day, caring for their respective area all summer, fall cleanup and 2 organizational meetings.

       2011

  • Our friendly staff is always willing to help provide helpful information at 83 North Main Street opened daily from 11:00 AM -  3:00 PM.

Merchant Committee Forum

The mission is simple…make Chagrin Falls the place to shop and eat.

We want to collaborate with our merchants on events and cooperative marketing opportunities to promote the village.
