Founded in 2004, La Cachette Gallery, a collaboration with Cuffs Clothing, is located in the small, quaint town of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Just outside of Cleveland, Chagrin Falls’ ambiance is complimentary to the artwork exhibited at La Cachette, a blend of contemporary work with classical undercurrents.

Representing international artists who work primarily in oils, the canvases in the gallery recall post-impressionist painting, capturing light and color as though arrested in time. Maria Bertrán, a Venezuelan artist who travels to Europe half the year for her work, is not afraid of applying thick amounts of paint to her canvases, nor is she averse to strong colors juxtaposed with traditional compositions. Walter Sauermann has a way of expressing the landscape or the figure that is gentle, yet affirms the artist’s experience and particular viewpoint. Sauermann has exhibited extensively in Europe and is represented in the US exclusively by La Cachette Gallery.

Another painter represented by La Cachette is Parisian artist Helene Renard. Renard’s small, intimate landscapes and still lives bring the viewer into her world of analysis and tenderness. Bronze sculptures by artists Ralph Tarzian and Gisela Raffalli are also among the works exhibited at La Cachette.

La Cachette Gallery draws the viewer to the source of inspiration and beauty, filling the path of vision with color, movement and the memory of a warm, summer breeze over a grassy field.
