Four Sessions
Valley Art Center and Hamlet Village will present an artist biography lecture series, “Through the Eyes of the Artist” with Felicia Zavarella. The series of four lectures are held at Hamlet Club House, 324 Hamlet Hills Drive, at 2pm for two sessions 1/21 and 2/18, and at Valley Art Center, 155 Bell Street, at 7pm for two sessions 3/18 and 4/15. The series of one-hour lectures feature Claud Monet, Frederic Remington, Mary Cassatt, and Tamara De Lempicka. Programs are presented with music and photographs and will journey into the lives and times of artists. Letters and journals written by the artists to their family and friends help understand their thoughts. Students will be given a notecard at the end of each session with an overview of the artist and their works.
This program was originally funded by a grant from the Cleveland Museum of Art to help bring art into the lives of school children. It has evolved into a program for people of all ages interested in uncovering the fascinating details of the lives and works of some of our must renowned and influential artists. Felicia has trained over 400 art docents and provided art history lectures in schools and communities in the Cleveland, Rhode Island and Massachusetts area.
Please call Karen 440-247-4676 for information or to reserve the series.
Lectures are free and open to all. Space is limited and reservations are required.
